Hey guys! It feels like it’s been such a long time since my last post ๐Ÿ™ I’ve been pretty sick and feeling gross so I haven’t been up for blogging and all that goes with it the past week. But I’m back and good as new ๐Ÿ™‚ A few weeks ago, a brand reached out to me and asked me if I wanted to feature their products on my blog. I hadn’t heard of them prior to the email, so before I agreed I did some research as one curious blogger does. I came to find out that Mikasa Beauty is a brand that I will continue to be using for my makeup brushes from now on! Mikasa Beauty is based in Vancouver, and focuses on ensuring their customers receive the best makeup brushes around. Their brushes are some of the softest I’ve felt, and are mostly made with goat hair, which is what most high-end companies use for their brushes as well. Mikasa offers premium brushes for affordable prices which you guys know is right up my alley! They also feature makeup and hair products too ๐Ÿ™‚ Since Mikasa is a new brand I recently discovered, I decided to start a new series on One Broke Blonde called, “Get to Know:__” where I’ll be featuring some of my favorite brands at the moment, or brands that I’ve just discovered that I think you should check out!

As I mentioned, this week I am excited to introduce you all to Mikasa! They are super generous and gave me a discount code for you guys to use to try out their products! I know you won’t be disappointed! If you’re not sure what to try out, here are five products of theirs that I tried out and fell in love with.

Mikasa Techni O6 Oval (M) Brush

I’ve been seeing these brushes sweep the makeup world by storm recently! Some of these brushes go for $60+!! When I was browsing Mikasa’s website and I saw this was only $35 I immediately put it in my cart! This brush is perfect for foundation, powder, contour, and blush! It smoothes over the face giving a unique, soft finish. It looks very natural, and not cakey at all which I love. The brush is so soft and the flexible handle makes it easy to reach all parts of the face you want your makeup applied!

Bodyography Natural Finish Foundation

I am alwaysss on the lookout for new foundations to try out. I haven’t heard of bodyography products before, so I was intrigued to try it out! I will say that it isn’t as full coverage as I hoped, but it definitely is buildable and the finish is very natural. It wears more like a BB cream to me, but I do really enjoy it. I used this with the Techni O6 brush and I my makeup looked so natural and glowy. This foundation has Vitamin E and licorice extract in it which gives your skin a revitalized glow!

Mikasa F250 Kabuki Brush

Kabuki brushes are my favorite. I love how they are so versatile and can be used for so many different products! Usually I use mine for finishing powder to achieve an airbrushed look. Kabuki brushes are also awesome for bronzer and contouring as well! Mikasa’s kabuki brush is made with pure high grade natural goat hair, so the bristles are extremely soft and give a flawless finish.

Bodyography Creme Blush (Sea Pearl)

This blush is everything. It combines the best of both worlds; blush and highlighter! It’s so creamy and glowy and makes me look like a goddess. I am obsessed with the fact that it isn’t too intense, and the color is very buildable. If you’re into dramatic glow or a subtle shine either look is achievable with this blush! Bodyography Creme Blushes are available in a variety of colors and they are extremely affordable! It’s such an amazing product and one of my new favorites ๐Ÿ™‚

Mikasa S100 Lemon Drop

Sponges are known for giving a flawless, airbrushed finish to makeup looks. So many makeup artists and beauty gurus swear by them, including myself. Once I started using a sponge to apply my makeup, I rarely reach for anything else. The great part about the Lemon Drop sponge is the flat bottom and pointed top. The bottom makes it so easy to apply foundation, and the smaller top makes it simple to blend concealer under the eye. This sponge has such a unique shape that is actually super effective!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and are excited to see what brand I feature next week! If you want to try out any of the products I mentioned, or anything else on Mikasa’s website (which you totally should), make sure you use the coupon codeย BROBLODEMAKEUP15ย for 15% off!! Let me know of any brands you think I should check out!

Let’s face it, shoes are addicting. Once you buy one, you have to buy them all…for every occasion or situation, ever. In my eyes, I don’t think it’s a problem at all. You can never have enough shoes, and I intend to keep adding to my already plentiful collection. While all shoes deserve a home and to be loved, there are just some staples that every lovely lady should have in their wardrobe.

Sneakers

I looooove sneakers so, so much. I love that there are so many varieties! They add a sporty put together look to any outfit; it’s perfect. Some sneakers are more casual, some have some fancy details but they are all equally fabulous. You honestly can’t go wrong with a pair of Adidas. Throw them on with any outfit and you look sporty, yet adorbs.

Slip Ons

Let us not confuse slip ons with sneakers, because believe it or not they are quite different. Slip ons tend to be a little less casual than sneakers, but still of course have the ability to dress down an outfit depending on what they look like. My favorite ones are from Steve Madden. I know they’re a bit pricy, but your girl got them on Black Friday for a discounted price so I don’t feel as guilty ๐Ÿ™‚ Slip on shoes look perfect with distressed jeans, dresses, shorts, and even lounge pants! The possibilities are endless.

Over-the-Knee Boots

This one is pretty much a no-brainer. Every gal should own at least one pair of over-the-knee boots because they go with everythinggg. You can wear them with jeans, dresses, skirts, and shorts! I don’t think I could survive the fall and winter without my boots. If you don’t have a pair yet, what are you waiting for?!

Booties

I’m going to be honest and say that only recently did I get into wearing booties, but now I’m never going back. I love how they add a little height and a little something extra to an outfit. They are perfect for accentuating ย your legs if they’re worn with dresses, shorts, or skirts! They are a great shoe for the fall and winter, but can also be transitioned into the spring and summer as well!

Mules/Clogs

At first I was skeptical about these, but I have since grown to adore them! Mules and clogs are an awesome transition shoe into the spring, and depending on the weather you can get away with wearing them in the winter as well (just make sure your feet don’t freeze). I only have one pair right now, but I definitely want to get some more in different styles! I think this is such a funky trend and I’m excited to rock them some more in the warmer weather!

Flats

I was never a big fan of flats until I bought these beauties last spring! They are Steve Madden as well so they were another impulse buy, but I was eyeing them for so long that I decided to snag them before they were gone. These flats are so comfortable and so chic. I love how they add a feminine touch to any outfit, and instantly make it look sophisticated and put together. I feel like most flats have that affect on outfits, and I really like the simple, elegant touch they offer.

I hope this post has inspired you to create some fun outfits with essential shoes in your closet! Keep in mind, even though some of the shoes and products are a bit pricer than I usually like to spend, every once in a while you deserve to splurge a little! Especially on shoes ๐Ÿ™‚ I never show expensive products I don’t truly love with my whole heart! What are some of your favorite shoes you can’t live without? I would love to know in the comments!

Stay fabulous!

I can honestly count on one hand the amount of times I’ve worn fishnet stockings in my life, and 99% of the time it was for a costume. I never really thought of pairing fishnets into everyday outfits, but since this trend has been huge lately I figured I would give it a shot! Adding fishnet stockings under distressed jeans gives your outfit an edgy, funky vibe in such a simple way! You can make them more subtle like I did, or you can go all out with larger holes in your jeans and the fishnets more exposed. Either way it’s a sexy touch of detail that will definitely turn heads and make your outfit stand out! For this outfit I decided to wear some distressed jeans from American Eagle and a cropped fuzzy sweater from Aerie to give the outfit a girly touch. I decided to pair the ensemble with some booties from UrbanOG, and I finished the look off with my chunky scarf from Urban Outfittersย and this adorable backpack from Forever 21.

Fishnets would also be adorable with a cropped sweatshirt, crop-top, sneakers, and a hat for more of a “model off duty” look. Fishnets are super versatile and how you pair them really depends on your style and what you’re comfortable with! I know for sure this is a trend I will continue to rock in many different ways!

The holidays have been over and done with for almost a month now, can you believe it?! Before we know it it’ll be summer, which honestly can’t come soon enough. With the holiday season coming to a close comes a lot of sales, and a lot of shopping. You guys know that I’m a sucker for both of those things. When I know a sale is going on at my favorite stores, I have to stock up on the things I’ve had my eye on for a while ๐Ÿ˜‰ Recently I did some shopping at American Eagle, UrbanOG, Nordstrom Rack, and Forever 21! Here’s what I picked up ๐Ÿ™‚ I am IN LOVE with everything I bought, so thankfully there is no buyers remorse because that’s just the worst.

As you guys know I prefer to show you guys what my purchases look like styled on me, but for this quick post I decided to just share the online pics and links with you. I hope this post gave you some fashion inspiration! I’ll see you soon with a new post!

I think it’s pretty safe to say that online shopping is a thrill that everyone loves to enjoy every once in a while. I on the other hand enjoy online shopping more than the average person I believe. Shopping online is just so much more fun, convenient, and the feeling of getting a package in the mail makes an ordinary day feel like Christmas. There are also a decent amount of stores that are only featured online so you have no choice but to online shop (which is totally fine with me). Since online shopping is such a huge part of how I get my clothes, I decided to share my top five places to shop online! Some stores are strictly online only and some are regular stores as well. One thing they have in common though is they are all affordable because that’s how your girl rolls ๐Ÿ˜‰

Forever 21

This one is pretty obvious because I feel like everyone between the ages of 13-30 has a thing for this place. Forever 21 not only has affordable prices, but they also have some of the cutest/trendiest pieces! I feel like at least 50% or more of my wardrobe is from Forever because I constantly find myself on the website browsing then falling in love with an item so I obviously have to get it. It’s a vicious cycle but since the clothes are affordable I don’t feel as guilty ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are some of my favorites featured on the site now!

UrbanOG

This store has quickly become my shopping destination for shoes. They are so affordable, so cute, and really comfortable! I love that their shoes are always up to date with the latest trends, and they also feature cheaper alternatives to more expensive brands! I have quite a few pairs of shoes from here and I’m never disappointed! UrbanOG also always has amazing sales going on and features some cute clothes as well!

Check out my favorites here!

Make Me Chic

I recently discovered this store while I was browsing the web a few weeks ago and I have to say I’m impressed! They offer really affordable pieces that are also super cute as well! I haven’t ordered anything from this site yet so I can’t say how the quality is, but I plan on trying it out soon! I featured some adorable pieces from this store in my “Best Trends of 2016” post!

Here are some of my faves from the site that I might try out soon ๐Ÿ™‚

Tobi

Tobi is such an awesome store for so many reasons. Not only are their clothes fairly priced, but they are almost always on sale AND if you haven’t shopped there before you get 50% off your first order! Tobi is the place to shop if you’re looking for a dress that’s made well, but also affordable. Tobi also offers really cute tops, outerwear, bottoms, and accessories!

Here are some of my faves on the site that you should check out!

ASOS

Asos has been a go-to store of mine for years now. I loveee that their prices range from affordable to high end so there is so much to choose from. Their clothes and the brands they offer are always really comfortable, trendy, and just the cutest. A good ASOS shopping spree makes me really happy. They also have a lot of punny t-shirts which is where basically all of mine are from ๐Ÿ™‚

These are my favorites right now!

I hope this post has helped you find some new stores to shop at! Let me know what your favorite online stores are in the comments! Thank you so much for reading, I love you all! xoxo
