Get to Know: Mikasa Beauty

Hey guys! It feels like it’s been such a long time since my last post πŸ™ I’ve been pretty sick and feeling gross so I haven’t been up for blogging and all that goes with it the past week. But I’m back and good as new πŸ™‚ A few weeks ago, a brand reached out to me and asked me if I wanted to feature their products on my blog. I hadn’t heard of them prior to the email, so before I agreed I did some research as one curious blogger does. I came to find out that Mikasa Beauty is a brand that I will continue to be using for my makeup brushes from now on! Mikasa Beauty is based in Vancouver, and focuses on ensuring their customers receive the best makeup brushes around. Their brushes are some of the softest I’ve felt, and are mostly made with goat hair, which is what most high-end companies use for their brushes as well. Mikasa offers premium brushes for affordable prices which you guys know is right up my alley! They also feature makeup and hair products too πŸ™‚ Since Mikasa is a new brand I recently discovered, I decided to start a new series on One Broke Blonde called, “Get to Know:__” where I’ll be featuring some of my favorite brands at the moment, or brands that I’ve just discovered that I think you should check out!

As I mentioned, this week I am excited to introduce you all to Mikasa! They are super generous and gave me a discount code for you guys to use to try out their products! I know you won’t be disappointed! If you’re not sure what to try out, here are five products of theirs that I tried out and fell in love with.

Mikasa Techni O6 Oval (M) Brush

I’ve been seeing these brushes sweep the makeup world by storm recently! Some of these brushes go for $60+!! When I was browsing Mikasa’s website and I saw this was only $35 I immediately put it in my cart! This brush is perfect for foundation, powder, contour, and blush! It smoothes over the face giving a unique, soft finish. It looks very natural, and not cakey at all which I love. The brush is so soft and the flexible handle makes it easy to reach all parts of the face you want your makeup applied!

Bodyography Natural Finish Foundation

I am alwaysss on the lookout for new foundations to try out. I haven’t heard of bodyography products before, so I was intrigued to try it out! I will say that it isn’t as full coverage as I hoped, but it definitely is buildable and the finish is very natural. It wears more like a BB cream to me, but I do really enjoy it. I used this with the Techni O6 brush and I my makeup looked so natural and glowy. This foundation has Vitamin E and licorice extract in it which gives your skin a revitalized glow!

Mikasa F250 Kabuki Brush

Kabuki brushes are my favorite. I love how they are so versatile and can be used for so many different products! Usually I use mine for finishing powder to achieve an airbrushed look. Kabuki brushes are also awesome for bronzer and contouring as well! Mikasa’s kabuki brush is made with pure high grade natural goat hair, so the bristles are extremely soft and give a flawless finish.

Bodyography Creme Blush (Sea Pearl)

This blush is everything. It combines the best of both worlds; blush and highlighter! It’s so creamy and glowy and makes me look like a goddess. I am obsessed with the fact that it isn’t too intense, and the color is very buildable. If you’re into dramatic glow or a subtle shine either look is achievable with this blush! Bodyography Creme Blushes are available in a variety of colors and they are extremely affordable! It’s such an amazing product and one of my new favorites πŸ™‚

Mikasa S100 Lemon Drop

Sponges are known for giving a flawless, airbrushed finish to makeup looks. So many makeup artists and beauty gurus swear by them, including myself. Once I started using a sponge to apply my makeup, I rarely reach for anything else. The great part about the Lemon Drop sponge is the flat bottom and pointed top. The bottom makes it so easy to apply foundation, and the smaller top makes it simple to blend concealer under the eye. This sponge has such a unique shape that is actually super effective!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and are excited to see what brand I feature next week! If you want to try out any of the products I mentioned, or anything else on Mikasa’s website (which you totally should), make sure you use the coupon codeΒ BROBLODEMAKEUP15Β for 15% off!! Let me know of any brands you think I should check out!
