Hello everyone!

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Dana. I am a recent college grad who loves fashion, animals, and sweets. I have a lot of passions in life, I am a very impulsive person…but I think that’s a good thing. Writing has been a part of who I am and what I love to do since I was very young. I’ve always had a fascination with words. I think it’s incredible to create a story or put words on a page just from the most creative part of your mind. I was an English major so I also tend to overthink and analyze everything. But that’s not what I want to talk about today. What I want to talk about is far more interesting and exciting. For those of you who know me, you would know that I created a blog a few months ago called sunflowers for the soul. I loved that blog, but something was missing. I felt very lost, and like I had so many people to compete with. Starting out as a very small, unknown lifestyle blogger is extremely difficult. Even though I blog for fun and not just hopes to create a career out of it, I was feeling very discouraged. And it sucked. The thought of blogging made me anxious, and seeing other lifestyle bloggers put out content 5 times a week made me very jealous and stressed. I felt like I was in a hole with no way to escape. That’s not what I wanted blogging to be. That isn’t what blogging should be. Blogging is supposed to be a way for people to create content they are passionate about and share it with the world. That is the side of blogging I want to be a part of. Don’t get me wrong, I know there are ups and downs to blogging. Not everything is as perfect or fabulous as we may make it seem. I want things to be different with this blog. I want to be passionate about writing and posting again, and because of Marina De Giovanni I have that fire again.

As I was scrolling on Instagram (as one does 100 times a day), I saw an ad for a blogging webinar. I’ve seen so many of these things before, but they all costed so much money I don’t have, and to be honest I really didn’t feel like listening to what these people had to say. This time was different though. I was feeling down about my blog, the webinar was free, and Marina had a glow about her that made me feel she genuinely wanted to help. So I did it. I took the webinar and fell in love with blogging all over again. Marina gave me a sense of hope and inspiration by letting us know she too failed at first with her blog, but she redeemed herself with one of the most successful lifestyle/fashion blogs out there! Taking her class changed my life for the better. She gave me the tools, tricks, and tips I needed to kick myself in the butt and start doing what I love again.

So here we are. Starting over. Even though fashion, beauty, food, travel, etc. are all topics I love and want to talk about, this blog is going to be different…at least for right now. I am going to focus on something I know all women struggle with…finding expensive fashion trends on a college student/grad budget. Even if you’re not or never were in college, this blog is still for you. It is geared towards the fabulous, hard-working women who want to look kick-ass awesome on a salary that forbids those Stuart Weitzman boots. On this blog, I gotchu covered. Together we are going to look like a million bucks, for a fraction of the price. I’m so excited to see where this adventure takes me. I hope you’ll come along for the ride 🙂
