Hey fashionistas!

I’m going to be real with you all. I have a bit an addiction. It is severe, but it’s not life-threatening. It’s called “I-can’t-stop-buying-shoes-itis.” Don’t worry, the only thing it hurts is my bank account, but hey…when you buy three pairs of shoes for the price of one expensive pair I say it’s totally worth it.

Today I’m going to talk about one of my favorite trends for the fall…over the knee boots! They’re stylish, sexy, and add a little somethin’ somethin’ to make your outfit complete! Now there are some over the knee boots that are gorgeous, but cost way too many digits for me. If you’re not into spending $300+ on boots, then you came to the right place. I’m so excited to share my top three favorite over the knee boots with you all! 🙂

I can’t rave enough about these babies! These boots are not only gorgeous, they’re sooo affordable!! Stuart Weitzman boots look almost exactly the same, and they retail at $798. Don’t get me wrong, the Stuart Weitzman boots are stunning, and I’m sure incredible quality…but this girl does not and will not ever justify spending that much on shoes. So I went on a hunt and found a dupe for the incredibly expensive boots for about $761 less! If that doesn’t tickle your fancy I don’t know what will. These exact boots are from Charlotte Russe, but unfortunately are sold out on the site 🙁 Here is a super similar and equally inexpensive pair from Urbanog! (plus this pair comes in a bunch of colors! Bonus!)

I am an avid ASOS shopper. They have some of the most affordable, cutest clothes that are always on trend and speak to my style. Last year as I was scrolling through the site, I noticed these boots. I instantly fell in love with not only the boots, but the brand as well. The brand is a European one called Daisy Street. Not only is the name super cute, but they have some of the most unique and awesome shoes! I will admit they are a tad more pricey than Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe, but nothing too crazy and definitely still in the affordable range. These boots are so soft, comfy, and they dress up any outfit with ease. Since I did buy these boots last year, sadly they are not available anymore…but I did find a super similar pair on the Daisy Street site that are actually more trendy!

So far I’ve shown you guys boots in all the essential colors; black, gray, and now tan/brown. There is something very unique about this camel color. Not only is it super trendy right now, but it also gives your outfit a sophisticated look. There is also something special about heeled over the knee boots as well. Even though I love my flat ones, adding some height makes me feel like I’m walking the runway everywhere I go. Heeled over the knee boots add a bit more sexy and a lot more shazam to an outfit! While flat over the knee boots are perfect for everyday, adding some heel to the already fab boots takes things to a whole new level (literally and figuratively). Now before you yell at me and say “Jeez, Dana. You haven’t shown us any of the exact boots you have wtf” hear me out. Although the boots I have are sold out because they are from last year also, I did find an extremely similar pair that I honestly like better! 🙂

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! There’s a blog post coming shortly on ways to style over the knee boots! So make sure you have yours so you can create the looks 🙂 Let me know of any over the knee boots you recommend! You can never have too many boots 🙂

Stay Stylin’

Hello everyone!

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Dana. I am a recent college grad who loves fashion, animals, and sweets. I have a lot of passions in life, I am a very impulsive person…but I think that’s a good thing. Writing has been a part of who I am and what I love to do since I was very young. I’ve always had a fascination with words. I think it’s incredible to create a story or put words on a page just from the most creative part of your mind. I was an English major so I also tend to overthink and analyze everything. But that’s not what I want to talk about today. What I want to talk about is far more interesting and exciting. For those of you who know me, you would know that I created a blog a few months ago called sunflowers for the soul. I loved that blog, but something was missing. I felt very lost, and like I had so many people to compete with. Starting out as a very small, unknown lifestyle blogger is extremely difficult. Even though I blog for fun and not just hopes to create a career out of it, I was feeling very discouraged. And it sucked. The thought of blogging made me anxious, and seeing other lifestyle bloggers put out content 5 times a week made me very jealous and stressed. I felt like I was in a hole with no way to escape. That’s not what I wanted blogging to be. That isn’t what blogging should be. Blogging is supposed to be a way for people to create content they are passionate about and share it with the world. That is the side of blogging I want to be a part of. Don’t get me wrong, I know there are ups and downs to blogging. Not everything is as perfect or fabulous as we may make it seem. I want things to be different with this blog. I want to be passionate about writing and posting again, and because of Marina De Giovanni I have that fire again.

As I was scrolling on Instagram (as one does 100 times a day), I saw an ad for a blogging webinar. I’ve seen so many of these things before, but they all costed so much money I don’t have, and to be honest I really didn’t feel like listening to what these people had to say. This time was different though. I was feeling down about my blog, the webinar was free, and Marina had a glow about her that made me feel she genuinely wanted to help. So I did it. I took the webinar and fell in love with blogging all over again. Marina gave me a sense of hope and inspiration by letting us know she too failed at first with her blog, but she redeemed herself with one of the most successful lifestyle/fashion blogs out there! Taking her class changed my life for the better. She gave me the tools, tricks, and tips I needed to kick myself in the butt and start doing what I love again.

So here we are. Starting over. Even though fashion, beauty, food, travel, etc. are all topics I love and want to talk about, this blog is going to be different…at least for right now. I am going to focus on something I know all women struggle with…finding expensive fashion trends on a college student/grad budget. Even if you’re not or never were in college, this blog is still for you. It is geared towards the fabulous, hard-working women who want to look kick-ass awesome on a salary that forbids those Stuart Weitzman boots. On this blog, I gotchu covered. Together we are going to look like a million bucks, for a fraction of the price. I’m so excited to see where this adventure takes me. I hope you’ll come along for the ride 🙂
